Manhattan Real Estate

The Big Apple is like the epitome of American culture and interaction. I think this is why so many people from all around the world flock to this place and call it home. If you're looking for a diverse place to spend your days, New York City is it. Now, that's not to say that you'll be residing there free of charge. Any fool can tell you that Manhattan real estate will cost you a pretty penny. Actually more like a gorgeous penny. Out of all the places I've ever been, I've never encountered apartments and houses higher priced than what's found in Manhattan. Size and quality is relevant here. To be frank, you can rent a tiny low-grade apartment in New York City and still end up paying two grand a month.

A friend from my past lives in Manhattan. Or at least he did when I knew him. He was a 25 year old struggling fashion model. I guess you could say he definitely had the scoop on Manhattan real estate and apartment rates. The one time I visited him in the Big Apple, I was shocked at the size of his apartment. It was like a closet. I couldn't fathom why anyone would choose to live in a place like this. And the kicker that really got me was the rent. Apparently he was forking out 2300 a month for this rat hole. What was he thinking? Well, that's actually a dumb question. I know exactly what he was thinking. As a struggling model, trying hard to break into the business, he wanted to live in where the business flourishes. New York City is the fashion and modeling capital of the world. Then again, I thought it was sad how hard he had to work, just to keep up with the rent. You can have that life!

If you're interested in Manhattan real estate, the best place to start your recon work is online. This is how I keep up with New England real estate. Although I want to live up north one day, I'm turned off by the high cost of Manhattan real estate. It's just a bit more than I'm willing to work for. I must choose quality of living over location. As a close friend, and native of New York City, once told me, you have to be a millionaire to live well in Manhattan. For me, this said it all.
